Launching digital human resource incubation center for e-commerce and logistics

Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation and Transfer Center (VISTEC) officially operated from July 7, 2025, with the goal of becoming an incubator of high-quality human resources in the fields of technology, e-commerce (e-commerce) and digital transformation.

The ASEAN Digital Economy Report 2024 by Google, Temasek and Bain & Company shows that Vietnam is one of the fastest growing digital economies in the region, with an e-commerce market size of 20.5 billion USD in 2024 and forecast to reach 25 billion USD in 2025.

In this context, building a workforce that is both specialized and capable of practicing and updating technology has become an urgent requirement. The establishment of VISTEC is expected to contribute to solving the above "bottleneck".

VISTEC, under the Vietnam - China Business Council (VCBC), is considered a bridge to transform research, investment and practical application in the field of science and technology, contributing to promoting innovation and international cooperation.

Mr. Steve Bui, Chairman of VCBC, said: VISTEC takes on the role of solving the problem of high-quality human resources - one of the biggest barriers to the process of technology transfer and localization in Vietnam.

VISTEC not only connects businesses with researchers, but also contributes to training a generation of engineers and technology experts with global competitiveness.

In the coming time, the center will cooperate with Vietnamese and Chinese partners to cooperate in training, aiming to nurture a team of human resources to take the lead in the development trend of science and technology in the Asia - Pacific region.

One of VISTEC's first activities is to sign a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with the University of Economics and Business Administration - Thai Nguyen University. The goal is to promote applied research in the field of e-commerce, digital transformation and technology career guidance.

The two units are committed to coordinating the implementation of research topics and projects applying technology to e-commerce practice. At the same time, they will increase the sharing of data, scientific resources and develop labs and innovation practice centers.

“In the future, the two units will expand the international cooperation network in the field of e-commerce and technology. Coordinate to organize events connecting supply and demand, exhibitions, e-commerce promotion, digital booths…”, Mr. Steve Bui shared.

From a training perspective, Dr. Nguyen Quang Hop, Vice Principal of the University of Economics and Business Administration - Thai Nguyen University, said: The school is building two new training programs on international logistics and cross-border e-commerce. Cooperation with VISTEC and international partners is part of the school's long-term strategy.

“We will work with VISTEC and partners to design short-term and long-term training programs on e-commerce, logistics, marketing and digital transformation. From there, we will provide high-quality human resources, not only knowledgeable about expertise but also good at practice, meeting the development requirements of logistics and e-commerce today,” affirmed Dr. Nguyen Quang Hop.
